Vanessa Nguyen’s 5 titles lead Kids First in Winter Wonderland

Nguyen's 5 titles lift Kids First
CORALVILLE - Vanessa Nguyen of Kids First Gymnastics won five events at the Winter Wonderland meet, helping her team to a first-place finish in the Xcel Bronze division.
The Kids First bronze team went 3-for-3 in team competitions this season.
Nguyen won the vault, bars, beam, floor exercise and all around. Teammate Hailey Gammon won three events (vault, bar and all around) and Ava McMenomy captured the team. Katherine Denner was a placewinner.
Zoeyanne Decapria won four events in Level 5, capturing the vault, bars, beam, floor and all around, and Ava Koch won the vault.
Ashlyn Winders won three events (vault, floor, all around) in Level 3 and Jane Petersen captured the beam. In Level 4, Ella Harmening won three events (vault, bars, all around) and Molly McMurrin won two (beam, floor) while Amelia Basler, Emma Schulze and Ly Bui all earned top-three finishes.
CRAG captures Winterland title
CORALVILLE - Sidney Davidson won the floor exercise and all around and Hailey Hakes (floor), Alyssa McAleer (beam), Nicole Clark (bars) and Maanasa Chinnakonda (vault) also won gold as the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics captured the Level 6 team title at the Winter Wonderland meet.
Natalie Freeman, Ava Andrews, Emma Kelsey and Grace Walker all were placewinners in Level 6.
CRAG's Jenna Danniger was a triple winner in Level 9, capturing the bars, floor exercise and all around, and Kareena McSweeny won the beam and all around. Carly Mark won the beam in Level 8. Other Level 8 placewinners were Riley Smith, Lauren Fruehling, Kyleigh Garcia and Maya Deuso.
In the Xcel divisions, CRAG's Emersyn Secora won the vault, bars and all round in gold. Other winners were Maggie Schlamp (vault) and Elly Froehlich (beam) in gold, and Lindsay Ginger (beam) and Olivia Lukan (floor) in silver. Placewinners were Lauren Miller, Chloe Pate, Olivia Lukan, Grace Noring and Hailey Carolan in silver, and Alivia Foster, Brooke Glasbrenner, Kori Lyle and Jordyn Erickson in gold.
Bunch powers Somersaults
CORALVILLE - Sophia Bunch of Somersaults Gymnastics won four events and Natalie Osterberg three, helping their Xcel Silver team to a runner-up finish at the Winter Wonderland meet.
Bunch won the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and all round and Osterberg captured the bars, beam and all around. Raivyn Rogers (floor) also won gold in silver and Faye Wade, Ava Christensen, Annie Haars, Hannah Brandt and Kate Rogers all earned top three finishes.
Logan Kalous won the vault in Xcel Gold for Somersaults and Bailey Davis and Grace Prull were placewinners.
Other winners were Carly Cronbaugh (vault) in Xcel Bronze and Ava Blue (beam) and Addilyn Wade (bars) in Xcel Silver. Ellie Jones captured the bars in Level 5.
Placewinners were Eleanor Gordon, Elly Pfab and Alyssa Jarchow in bronze; Mia Frame, Paisley Joens, Zoe Grady, Isabel Hawker, Isabelle Howsare and Kianna Davis in sliver, and Laura Swart in Level 5.
The silver team also placed second.
