Smith powers Marion over Independence: Girls BB Round up

Caitlyn Smith drilled seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points to lead Marion to a 57-43 victory in Independence.
Michalyn Mohr added 16 points for the Indians (10-3, 5-1 WAMAC).
Tristin Ludwig paced Independence (5-7, 2-4 WAMAC) with 12 points.
C.R. WASHINGTON 60, WATERLOO WEST 40
- Anne Visser scored 12 points, while Kandis O'Donnell and Jessi Puk each added 10 for host Washington in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup.
O'Donnell also added seven rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Warriors (6-6, 2-6 MVC).
Aliyah Robinson led all scorers with 14 points for Waterloo West (3-10, 0-7 MVC).
CVC 52, PRINCE OF PEACE 42
- Shelby and Molly Hembera started cooking in the second half Tuesday in Clinton.
Cedar Valley Christian (7-3) led by one, 23-22, at half, but broke loose in the final 16 minutes.
Shelby Hembera had 27 points and 12 rebounds and Molly Hembera added 13 points.
IOWA CITY HIGH 69, WATERLOO EAST 20
- The seventh-ranked Little Hawks (9-3, 6-0 MVC) opened a 54-15 halftime lead and forced 28 East (0-13, 0-7) turnovers in the game.
Ashley Joens led City with 22 points, seven steals and four assists. Kenya Earl scored 13 and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and Lillie Christpherson chipped in 10 points.
LINN-MAR 65, DUBUQUE SENIOR 34
- Amanda Ollinger led all scorers with 18 points as the fifth-ranked Lions won at home. Olivia Montague finished the night with 11 points for Linn-Mar.
Defensively, Linn-Mar allowed no double-digit scorers from Dubuque Senior.
CEDAR FALLS 53, C.R. JEFFERSON 31
- Kylie Wise scored 14 for the J-Hawks and Sparkle Melton grabbed seven rebounds in a loss at No. 6 Cedar Falls.
C.R. XAVIER 45, DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 36
- The Saints spread the ball around as they won Tuesday at Dubuque. Morgan Breitbach led No. 11 (4A) Xavier with nine points while McKenna Andersen, Lizzy Bailey, and Erin Drahozal each scored eight points.
Gabbrielle Riley led all scorers with 12 points for the Mustangs.
IOWA CITY WEST 60, DUBUQUE WAHLERT 20
– Mikaela Morgan scored 23 points to lead all scoring players as the fourth-ranked Women of Troy won on the road. Dani Craig finished the night with 13 points for West.
Jade Lynch scored nine points to lead the Golden Eagles.
