Schedule is set for first all-day boys’ basketball tournament at U.S. Cellular Center

CEDAR RAPIDS — The schedule for the first all-day boys' basketball tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center has been finalized.
Organizer Tyler Cleveland said Tuesday that seven games will be played Saturday, January 20, 2018, beginning at 8:30 a.m. A sponsor and name for the tourney has yet to be determined.
Cedar Rapids Xavier and Solon will kick off the event with an early morning game. Osage and Cascade will follow at approximately 10:15 a.m.
Then it's Mount Pleasant vs. Charles City in a noon game between Class 3A schools. West Delaware and Waverly-Shell Rock are up next at 1:45 p.m.
They are ranked first and second, respectively, in 3A.
Linn-Mar will play Western Dubuque at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Bobcats will join the Mississippi Valley Conference in two years.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy draws Sioux City East in a 5:15 p.m. The finale is at 7 p.m. between Iowa City West and Cedar Rapids Prairie.
More tournament details will be revealed as they are finalized.
