Ryan Murphy commits to Arkansas

MARION — Linn-Mar senior Ryan Murphy said on Twitter Tuesday night that he has committed to run at the University of Arkansas.
Murphy has been among the top runners in the state — both in cross country and in track — since his arrival on the high-school stage. He was fifth in the Class 4A boys' race at he state cross country meet last month in 15:54. At last spring's state track meet, he was fourth in the 4A 3,200-meter run (9:30.27) and ninth in the 1,600 (4:22.01).
