Prep football: First-round playoff pairings

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released first-round pairings for the prep football postseason early Saturday morning.

There are no true brackets. Pairings will be drawn up after each round based on district standings and geography.

The top two teams in their districts are guaranteed first-round home games, though Cedar Rapids Jefferson will play Dubuque Senior at Cornell College at 5 p.m., followed by Mount Vernon and Dyersville Beckman at 8 p.m.

The double-header at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday will feature Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Clinton at 5:30 p.m., followed by Cedar Rapids Washington and Cedar Falls at 8 p.m.

All games kick off at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
