Prep basketball roundup: Saunders leads West past Prairie

IOWA CITY WEST 60, CEDAR PRAIRIE 23
Rachael Saunders drained three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 19 points to lead Iowa City West over Cedar Rapids Prairie in Iowa City.
Emma Koch and Ali Tauchen each added nine points for the Women of Troy.
Olivia Usher led the way for Prairie with eight points and two assists.
CEDAR FALLS 45, CEDAR RAPIDS XAVIER 30
Claire Gerdes led all scorers with 19 points for No. 13 Cedar Falls (1-0) in a Mississippi Valley Conference game at home.
Kiana Stanek paced 4A No. 11 Xavier (1-2) with 11 points, while McKenna Andersen added seven to go along with five rebounds.
CEDAR RAPIDS WASHINGTON 73, DUBUQUE WAHLERT 46
Vanessa Eniola scored 17 points to pace three Warriors in double figures in Dubuque. Anne Visser added 13 points and Joniqua Clark tallied 11 points for the Warriors.
IOWA CITY HIGH 81, DUBUQUE SENIOR 49
Courtney Joens was all over the court making eight buckets, four from downtown for a game-high 27 points to lead No. 6 City High over Senior in Dubuque.
There were three more Little Hawks in double figures: Ashley Joens 15, Kenya Earl 14, and Bryn Hanrahan was a sniper with four 3-pointers for a total of 12 points.
Dubuque Senior was led by Emily Mott and Sydney Tigges, both with 14 points.
SPRINGVILLE 70, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 24
Springville 70, CVC 24
— Megan Wagaman, Madi Wagaman and Rylee Menster each had 12 points while Mikayla Nachazel added 11 points to give 1A top-ranked Springville the win at home. Molly Hembera tallied 14 points to pace Cedar Valley Christian.
CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 56, DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 38
Emily Oler led Jefferson with 15 points.
Avery Guy added 11 points and seven assists.

The 2A second-ranked Regals got a key River Valley Conference victory over 2A No. 9 Durant.

4A No. 4 Marion won its opener last night at home.

WAUKEE 63, LINN-MAR 52
Jacob Rau scored a game-high 20 points at Linn-Mar. Jared Printy made four 3-pointers and scored 16 points to lead Linn-Mar. Jordan Bohannnon added 12 points while Beau Klosterman tallied 11 points for the Lions.
IOWA CITY HIGH 58, DAVENPORT NORTH 42
Micah Martin scored 18 points, while Henry Mulligan added 15 points with three 3-pointers to lead Iowa City High at home.
SPRINGVILLE 55, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 33
Travis Geels had 11 points and nine boards for Cedar Valley Christian, but it wasn't enough to hold off Springville, who was led by Cavanaugh Riley's 15 points.
CLINTON 52, CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 50
Cole Pennock scored 14 points to lead Clinton at home. Royshawn Webb scored 12 points, while James Brown and Dennis McKinney each added 10 points for the J-Hawks.
