Scores and highlights from metro basketball games Friday night
Girls
4A No. 11 CEDAR RAPIDS XAVIER 50, CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 47 — Xavier's Kiana Stanek made all six of the Saints' 3-pointers, scoring a team-high 18 points, as Xavier beat Jefferson.
Kylie Brown added 17 points and had seven boards for Xavier.
Kennedy Dighton (18) and Erica Oler (15) led the J-Hawks.
CALAMUS-WHEATLAND 62, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 60 — Morgan Vander Heiden scored 30 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Warriors came back from a nine-point deficit to win in Springville. Katie Banowetz finished with 17 points for Calamus-Wheatland.
Molly Hembera and Emma Slagle led Cedar Valley Christian with 17 points each with Slagle draining five 3-pointers. Maggie Cach tallied 13 points.
5A No. 3 IOWA CITY WEST 64, WATERLOO EAST 26 — The third-ranked Women of Troy won in Iowa City. Logan Cook scored a game-high 16 points.
5A No. 2 IOWA CITY HIGH 84, DUBUQUE SENIOR 64 — Ashley Joens went over 1,000 points for her career in Dubuque.
2A No. 1 IOWA CITY REGINA 70, WEST BRANCH 50 — The top-ranked (2A) Regals won a foul-filled game in Iowa City.
Both teams shot 25 free throws, but it wasn't the difference. Regina made 27 baskets to just 18 for the Bears. Mary Crompton had 23 points and Alex Wiese 17 points.
Haley Mullinix led West Branch with 17 points.
4A No. 2 MARION 60, 3A No. 5 CENTER POINT-URBANA 57

CEDAR RAPIDS JEFFERSON 61, 3A No. 4 CEDAR RAPIDS XAVIER 58 — Nolan Butkowski led the fourth-ranked (3A) Saints with 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and Max Techau recorded a double-double scoring 13 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.
Jackson Joens finished with 12 points for Xavier.
4A No. 1 IOWA CITY WEST 76, WATERLOO EAST 58 — Patrick McCaffery scored 19 points as No. 1 Iowa City West won on the road.
Conner McCaffery added 17 points while Devontae Lane tallied 15 points for West.
4A No. 4 DUBUQUE SENIOR 60, IOWA CITY HIGH 27
CALAMUS-WHEATLAND 74, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 52 — Brett Kelting scored 18 points in Springville.
Garrett Rickels scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers and Brant Boeckmann finished with 12 points for Calamus-Wheatland.
Travis Geels led Cedar Valley Christian with 17 points; Kyle Gustafson added 16 points.
IOWA CITY REGINA 76, WEST BRANCH 62 — Jake Phillips scored 22 points to lead Regina.
Cooper Kabela had 30 points and 17 rebounds for West Branch.
MARION 60, CENTER POINT-URBANA 56 — The Indians pulled away in the final quarter to win Friday night in Center Point.
Chase Zielke had 26 points to pace Marion.
Grant Dirks had 27 points and 11 rebounds for Center Point-Urbana. JoJo Frost added 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
4A No. 6 CEDAR RAPIDS KENNEDY 77, CEDAR RAPIDS WASHINGTON 43
