Prairie’s Vale Caro, Jiung Jung of Iowa City West two-time MVC tennis athletes of the year

The Mississippi Valley Conference released the all-conference prep tennis teams on Wednesday, which earned a second Athlete of the Year nod to two competitors.

Defending Class 2A boys' singles state champion Jiung Jung of Iowa City West was named MVC Valley Division Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year, while Cedar Rapids Prairie junior Vale Caro (Mississippi Division) earned the nod on the girls side for the second time in three years.

Linn-Mar's Ellie Anderson, a University of Denver volleyball commit who did not play prep tennis last season — was named girls' Valley Division Athlete of the Year, while Joe Hoff of Iowa City High was the Mississippi Division boys' honoree.

Senior Innes Hicsasmaz of Iowa City High was named to the girls' first team for the fourth time.
