GIRLS
5A No. 8 Linn-Mar 50, Cedar Rapids Prairie 35
The eighth-ranked Linn-Mar Lions limited the Prairie Hawk offense Friday night in a 50-35 victory at Cedar Rapids Prairie.
Amanda Ollinger recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds while Claire Larson scored 10 points for Linn-Mar (17-4, 11-2 MVC).
Makenzie Stoffer led Prairie (10-11, 4-9) with nine points.
Dubuque Hempstead 50, 5A No. 7 Cedar Rapids Kennedy 43
The Mustangs pulled off the upset Friday night at No. 7 Kennedy.
Madison Fleckenstein scored a game-high 17 points for Hempstead. Megan Gronau added 11.
For Kennedy, M'caela Sellers had 14 points, followed by nine points from Linden Runels and seven points from Hailey Dolphin.
Kennedy led at the half 22-16. The score was tied at 41 with four minutes left, but the Cougars were outscored 9-2 from that point on.
4A No. 7 Marion 37, West Delaware 25
Marion won a defensive battle Friday night in Marion.
Mia Laube scored nine points and Isabella Sade scored eight for the Indians, who won their 10th straight.
Kristen Wegmann had a game-high 11 points for West Delaware.
Cedar Rapids Xavier 73, Waterloo East 21
McKenna Anderson scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead all players Friday night in Waterloo.
Lexi Noonan had 12 points and four assists for Xavier (9-12, 5-8 MVC).
Kerris Roberts led Waterloo East (1-19, 0-13 MVC) with seven points.
BOYS
Linn-Mar 81, Cedar Rapids Prairie 63
Beau Klostermann scored 26 and Jordan Bohannon added 23 as the Lions won at Prairie.
Jared Printy added 13 points.
Cal Clark and Max Smith-Drahos both scored 14 points for Prairie.
Waterloo East 66, 3A No. 3 Cedar Rapids Xavier 44
The third-ranked Saints lost last night at home.
Jackson Joens led with 14 points and Mitchell Burger added 12 points for Xavier (13-6, 9-5 MVC). Waterloo East improved to 10-10, 7-8.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy 57, Dubuque Hempstead 50
Alburnett 59, Cedar Valley Christian 21
Kelvin Ridder scored a team high 10 points to pace Cedar Valley Christian at Alburnett. Kyle Gustafson added a pair of 3-pointers.
Ryan Moyle scored a game-high 17 points to lead Alburnett. Jordan Stewart scored 10, and Joey Phillip added 9 points.
