No. 2 Jefferson crushes Waterloo West

CEDAR RAPIDS – Second-ranked Jefferson had no problems dispatching Waterloo West on Thursday, scoring 11 runs in both games of a doubleheader sweep.
In a five-inning opener, Connor Van Scoyoc allowed one hit and one walk while striking out seven for the J-Hawks. Jared Eivins had three RBIs for Jefferson, 11-0 victors.
In the nightcap, Brayden Frazier had two hits and knocked in three as the J-Hawks rolled to an 11-1, six-inning victory.
Jefferson improved to 22-6 on the season and will host Waterloo East in a doubleheader Friday.
