Nelson Brands is staying home.
The two-time state wrestling champion from Iowa City West tweeted his commitment to the University of Iowa Monday night. Brands is the son of Iowa associate head coach Terry Brands and nephew of head coach Tom Brands.
'It may come to no surprise that I have decided to continue my wrestling career at the University of Iowa,' Nelson Brands wrote.

Brands, a junior, is the sixth wrestler in Iowa City West history to win two state titles after claiming the Class 3A 152-pound gold Saturday. He won the 138-pound division last year.
Brands was 54-1 this season and has a career record of 143-19. He entered the state tournament with a state-best 454 takedowns this season — crushing his own record (321) — and totaled 67 points in four bouts last week, most in Class 3A.
'He's gotten kids to the point where they don't want to get back up,' West coach Mark Reiland said before last week's state tournament. 'He's physical and strong. Most kids will take a break in a match where he doesn't. That's when kids crumble with him. They are fighting things off constantly and then they can't do it anymore.'
