Mosers athletes performing at Indianapolis 500

Members from the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics in northeast Iowa are performing at the 100th Indianapolis 500.
The Moser dancers will be spotlighted in the IPL 500 Festival Parade on Saturday and will perform alongside cheerleaders from the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers. The dancers have been rehearsing two dance routines choreographed by the award-winning nationally and internationally known choreographer Bonnie Story from the hit show 'Glee” and 'So You Think You Can Dance.” One of the routines is to a remix of the Cars music and the other routine will be performed with the live musical quest artist 'Walk off the Earth” to 'Rule the World.”
On race day, Sunday, the Moser dancers, their coaches and 22 members of their family members will be a part of the raising of the United States flag for the opening ceremonies.
The four days of rehearsals, performances at the parade and at the Indy 500, appreciation dinner/dance and recognition to the Moser School and others involved will conclude with a master dance class from Story.
Moser Dancers and Gymnasts performing are Addison Reetz, Gina Owens, Luka Schulte, Reagan Brown, Libby Atwood, Mikya Britton, Annie Gulick, Gertrude Wall, Sophia Manson, Megan Pierschbacher, Addison Hucker, Natalie Ulrichs and Kennedi Bevans.
Moser Instructors attending are Debbie Moser of Dyersville, Carmen Moser Payne of Edgewood and Kattie Payne Schulte and Bernita Moser of Strawberry Point.
SWISHER'S JOHNSTON WINS JUNIOR EVENT
BURLINGTON - Ian Johnston of Swisher won The Prep Tour Spirit Hollow Shootout earlier this month at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
Johnston, 14, shot a 74 the last day to come back from one stroke to win by six in poor weather in the freshman/sophomore division. He was Sunday medalist in all divisions.
The win was his first Prep Tour win and his second win in his last three events overall.
Johnston is a freshman at Cedar Rapids Prairie.
