Montezuma's Katie Maschmann signs with UNI

MONTEZUMA — Katie Maschmann, the two-time defending Class 1A state champion in the 100- and 200-meter races in girls' track and field, has signed to run at the University of Northern Iowa.
A senior at Montezuma High School, Maschmann holds the 1A state-meet record in the 100 (12.2). She is a seven-time state placewinner and holds five school records.
Maschmann is a four-sport athlete and is likely to finish her high-school career with 16 varsity letters. She plans to major in accounting at UNI.
