Marion’s Bre Smith runner-up at Class 2A state bowling
DES MOINES — Marion junior Bre Smith rolled games of 247 and 235 to finish second in the Class 2A girls' state bowlilng tournament Tuesday at Plaza Lanes.
Smith's 482 total was 18 pins behind state champion Leah Frost of Waterloo East. Frost fired a 290 in her first game.
Marion finished third in the team race with a scored of 2777. Waterloo East won the title at 3071.
Nick Miller of Denison-Schleswig won the 2A boys' title with a score of 505 and Urbandale was the team champion at 3026, six pins in front of Waverly-Shell Rock.
