Reported scores and summaries for prep basketball games involving Cedar Rapids and Iowa City metro teams Tuesday night.
BOYS
No. 8 Linn-Mar 78, No. 5 Ankeny 68 (OT)
The Lions chipped away at a 34-28 halftime deficit to close out the end of regulation tied at 66 apiece. Linn-Mar outscored the Hawks 12-2 in overtime to take the win at Ankeny.
Jordan Bohannon finished with a game-high 37 points, hitting five from behind the arc and 10 of 10 at the line, while Jared Printy chipped in 14 points.
Chris McCleod and Conor Riordan each scored 15 points for Ankeny.
No. 3 Iowa City West 61, Bettendorf 49
Devontae Lane scored 17 points as the Trojans (9-3) won in Bettendorf.
Wali Parks had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Patrick McCaffery scored 11 points and Alex Henderson finished with 10 points.
Johnston 56, Cedar Rapids Kennedy 37
Matthew Gardner paced Kennedy with eight points and Drake Brewster and Matthew Berst scored seven apiece in the loss.
Marion 50, Independence 38
Baylor Fish led all scorers with 20 points, and made four 3-pointers as the Indians picked up a win on the road.
Jacob Manderscheid and Chase Zielke had nine points each for Marion. Manderscheid was also 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Nick Steger and Sean Geertsema each scored seven points to lead Independence.
Solon 81, DeWitt Central 66
Brevin Hill and Streeter McIlvary led all players with 19 points each as the Spartans (6-5, 4-3 Wamac) beat the Sabers in DeWitt.
Adam Runyan finished with 12 points while Luke Ira scored 10 points for Solon.
Tyler Gaston led DeWitt Central (3-9, 0-7) with 18 points while Max Steffens had 15 points and Matt Burke scored 12 points for the Sabers.
Bellevue Marquette 70, Cedar Valley Christian 29
C.J. Michels led all players with 22 points as the Mohawks (8-3, 6-1 Tri-Rivers) won at home. Nate Brinker had 11 points while Blayne Banowetz scored 10 points for Bellevue Marquette.
Travis Geels and Logan Crittenden scored eight points for the Huskies (1-12, 0-7).
Iowa City Regina 72, Mid-Prairie 36
GIRLS
No. 15 Pleasant Valley 56, No. 12 Linn-Mar 54
Kira Arthofer and Ellie Spelhaug scored 15 points each as No. 15 Pleasant Valley (10-4) held off a fourth-quarter rally from No. 12 Linn-Mar to win, 56-54, in Marion.
Kamryn Finley of Linn-Mar (9-4, 6-2 MVC) led all scorers with 20 points while Amanda Ollinger picked up a double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and five steals. Lexi Frese finished with 10 points for the Lions
Cedar Rapids Prairie 57, Mount Pleasant 27
Olivia Usher scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, as Prairie used a 12-2 run to close the third quarter and break the game open on their way to win at home.
Sarah Schmitt and Jenna Wagemester each added eight points for the Hawks (7-7)
Cedar Rapids Jefferson 68, Davenport Central 33
Emily Oler scored 13 points as the J-Hawks (7-7) downed the Blue Devils (0-13) in Davenport. Avery Guy finished with 10 points, three rebounds and four assists while Kylie Wise had 10 points and two rebounds.
Kennedy Dighton scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds for Jefferson.
Iowa City West 68, Bettendorf 28
Emma Koch scored 13 points while leading twod players in double-figure scoring as West (9-4) won at home. Rachel Saunders added 12 points and made two 3-pointers.
Emily Ivory led Bettendorf with three treys and nine points.
4A No. 10 North Scott 68, 5A No. 6 Iowa City High 64
Karli Rucker led the Lancers with 21 points.
2A No. 2 Regina 56, 3A No. 13 Mid-Prairie 50
Regina (13-0, 11-0) remained undefeated with a big River Valley Conference win over Mid-Prairie in Iowa City.
Mary Crompton led Regina with 20 points. Kennedy Brown added 15 and Cammy Verducci had 12.
Bellevue Marquette 58, Cedar Valley Christian 38
Candace Wilson scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Huskies in a loss to Marquette in Bellevue.
Molly Hembera added 10 points and seven rebounds. The Mohawks were led by Marissa Schroeder's 20 points.
Solon 29, DeWitt Central 27 (OT)
Josie Durr hit 1-of-2 free throws to send the game to overtime, then scored four of the Spartans' six points for the win.
