Jim White named national coach of the year

Solon High School softball coach Jim White was named the National High School Coaches Associaion coach of the year Wednesday.
White has won seven state championships — six at Clear Creek Amana, one at Solon — in 17 trips to state. He is in his 23rd year of coaching and owns a career record of 983-145.
