CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jessica Heims posted personal bests in four events at the U.S. Paralympic Trials.
Now, it's wait-and-see on whether she'll advance to Rio.
Heims, a senior-to-be at Cedar Rapids Prairie, finished second in the women's discus (84 feet, 9 1/2 inches) and third in the 400 meters (1:11.17).
She also finished the 200 in 30.23 seconds the 100 in 14.59.
'Jessica had great performances all around,' said her coach, Bill Calloway. 'We think she's on the fence in the discus and has an outside shot at the 400.'
