Jefferson’s Keenan Stewart named Class 4A, District 5 defensive player of year

CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids Jefferson senior defensive lineman Keenan Stewart has been named Defensive Player of the Year in Class 4A, District 5, it has been announced.
Stewart was one of five J-Hawks named to the district's first team. Others were Kyler Bell and Joshua Furrow on offense and T.J. Kuennen and Logan Pady on defense.
Cedar Rapids Washington also had five first-teamers, including offensive linemen Andrew Todd and Nolan Potter. Other Warriors on the first team were running back Haven Henningsen, kicker Andrew Hammer and linebacker Tyonchi Johnson.
Quarterback Luke Gillett of Cedar Falls was named the district's Offensive Player of the Year. Brad Remmert of Cedar Falls has been selected Coach of the Year.
