Iowa high school regional volleyball brackets: 1A, 2A
The IGHSAU released regional volleyball pairings for the smallest two classes Monday, while 3A, 4A and 5A will be posted Tuesday.
Regional play begins Tuesday, Oct. 17 in 1A and 2A with the finals set for Tuesday, Oct. 31. Regional champions advance to the state tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids from November 7-10.
In Class 1A, top-ranked and defending champion Janesville opens Region 3 play Monday, Oct. 23 against the winner of Ackley AGWSR and Gladbrook-Reinbeck.
In The Gazette area, No. 2 Springville and No. 14 HLV are in Region 7. In Region 6, No. 4 Starmont and No. 10 Iowa Valley are on opposite sides of the bracket. No. 8 North Tama is in Region 4.
2A No. 1 Dike-New Hartford, last year's 3A champion, is in Region 7, where it will face the Jesup-Denver winner in the quarterfinals. Defending 2A champion Western Christian will meet the winner of Hartley HMS and Emmetsburg in the Region 1 quarterfinals.
No. 11 Iowa City Regina is the highest-ranked team in Region 8, where No. 12 Wilton is on the other side of the bracket.
