Iowa high school girls’ basketball rankings: City High-West rematch will be No. 2 vs. No. 3

The rematch of December's overtime thriller between Iowa City High and Iowa City West on Tuesday will feature two of the top three teams in Class 5A.
City High (13-0) and West (12-1) remained No. 2 and 3 in this week's IGHSAU Class 5A rankings. The Little Hawks won the first meeting, 74-73 and is at Cedar Rapids Jefferson on Friday. West travels to Cedar Rapids Prairie before heading across town to City on Tuesday.
The larger two classes saw no changes to the top five and the No. 1 teams remained the same in all five: Indianola (5A), Pella (4A), Pocahontas Area (3A), Iowa City Regina (2A) and Springville (1A).
Crestwood flipped with Cherokee at No. 3 and No. 4 in 3A after the Braves suffered their first loss last Friday to Western Christian, 88-75.
Western dropped from No. 3 to No. 5 in 2A following a 60-56 loss to 4A No. 15 LeMars. That made room for unbeaten North Linn in the top five at No. 4. Central Decatur moved up one spot to No. 3.
In 1A, Lansing Kee took to the No. 5 ranking from Burlington Notre Dame, which suffered the largest fall of the week to 13th. The Nikes have lost two straight; to Columbus Community (58-53) and Van Buren (46-44).
Elsewhere in the area, Linn-Mar dropped from No. 13 to No. 15 in 5A, Western Dubuque jumped two spots to No. 8 in 4A, Union slipped from No. 7 to No. 8 in 3A, Mid-Prairie (3A No. 14) and Lynnville-Sully (1A No. 11) each moved up a spot and Highland joined the 2A rankings at No. 15.
