The highest-ranked MVC girls' basketball team is now the Cedar Falls Tigers. CF (16-1) jumped from No. 6 to No. 3, surpassing Iowa City High and Iowa City West, after beating West 75-66 last Friday.
City High beat the Tigers 62-40 back in December and remains No. 5 behind the Women of Troy, who won the second meeting between the rivals two weeks ago.
Linn-Mar (11-7) dropped out of the rankings after losing three games last week. The Lions were replaced by Dubuque Hempstead (11-6).
The No. 1 teams remained the same: Indianola (17-0) in 5A, Marion (18-1) in 4A, Sioux Center (19-0) in 3A, Iowa City Regina (19-0) in 2A and Springville (19-2) in 1A.
Springville hosts 2A No. 4 North Linn (21-0) Friday.
Elsewhere in the area, Center Point-Urbana flipped with Cherokee to No. 4; the Stormin' Pointers lost to Marion 63-47 last week but beat 4A No. 10 Waverly-Shell Rock 62-55. Cherokee lost 60-48 at then-4A No. 14 (now 12) Le Mars. Cascade moved up two spots to No. 8 in 2A and Maquoketa Valley climbed to No. 14.
