2023 Iowa high school girls’ tennis postseason paths revealed
Road to state tournament in Class 2A and 1A

The quest for Iowa high school girls’ tennis singles and doubles state championships begin on Wednesday, May 10 with regional action at 16 sites around the state.
Each team may enter two singles competitors and two doubles teams. Competitors can only compete in either singles or doubles. Entries are due to the state by Wednesday. Cedar Rapids Washington’s Katelynn Kock and Kathryn Zylstra are the defending Class 2A doubles champions.
Each champion and runner-up from regional play will qualify for state tournament play, scheduled for May 26-27. The Class 2A meet will be held at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center on the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City. Class 1A play will be at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.
Cedar Rapids Washington and Iowa City West are among the host sites in Class 2A. Gazette-area schools are also part of regionals at Marshalltown, Pleasant Valley and Clinton.
In Class 1A, Decorah and Mount Vernon will be serving as regional hosts. Cedar Rapids Xavier will be in the regional at Grinnell.
Postseason regional team assignments are expected to be released by the end of this week. Regional team meets are scheduled for May 13, 16 and 20.
