Girls’ basketball roundup: No. 10 Linn-Mar opens with win

Amanda Ollinger had a game-high 30 points and pulled down six rebounds for No. 10 Linn-Mar in a 67-29 victory over Waterloo East Tuessday night in Marion.
Linn-Mar only committed nine turnovers in the game compared to 21 for East. Kamryn Finley chipped in 12 points and Claire Larson added seven.
ALBURNETT 55, CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 52 - Taylor Huber led all scorers with 19 points and Maddy Schuchmann added 14 to lead the host Pirates over Cedar Valley Christian. Maggie Cach scored 18 and Molly Hembera and Candace Wilson each had 12 points for the Huskies.
C.R. WASHINGTON 78, DAVENPORT CENTRAL 49 - The Warriors took a 48-22 lead into halftime and outscored Central 22-10 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Anne Visser knocked down three treys and finished with 15 points and Payton Bruner scored 13 with three rebounds.
C.R. XAVIER 41, DECORAH 21 - McKenna Andersen paced the 11th-ranked Saints with 11 points and six rebounds in a win at Decorah. Meghan Joens finished with six steals and Lexi Noonan led the team with three assists. Xavier forced 23 turnovers in the game. Taylor Schuring scored 10 points for the Vikings.
NORTH SCOTT 55, C.R. JEFFERSON 34 - The J-Hawks could not overcome a slow start scoring only 10 points in the first half Tuesday night at Eldridge. Kennedy Dighton was Jefferson's only double-digit scorer with 14 points. Kaitlin Schmidt scored a game-high 15 points for North Scott.
