Cedar Rapids Kennedy's run at the top of Class 5A has ended after two weeks.
Cedar Falls' 46-30 win over the Cougars last Friday propelled the Tigers six spots to No. 4 and dropped Kennedy to No. 6.
Ankeny Centennial (13-2) is the new top-ranked team. Iowa City High jumped five spots to No. 3, behind Johnston.
Linn-Mar entered the top 10 at No. 9 while Cedar Rapids Washington joined the rankings at 15th, one behind Iowa City West.
In Class 4A, Western Dubuque held steady at No. 2, while Marion stayed put at No. 7.
This set of rankings is particularly important in the larger two classes, as it will help determine regional pairings, set to be released Monday.
New rankings could mean a projected Kennedy/Linn-Mar regional final in 5A. Will post mock pairings for 4A/5A Friday. January 28, 2016
