False Start: Storms affect Week 1 of prep football

Lightning was the winner on the first Friday of the 2015 high school football season.
Numerous Week 1 games were postponed to Saturday and the West Des Moines Dowling at Cedar Rapids Xavier game was cancelled.
Many games were called before kick while others — including the Lisbon at West Branch contest — were called in progress. The game at West Branch will resume at 11 a.m. with the Bears on top, 20-7, with 8:51 left in the third quarter.
Saturday's slate includes the Metro clash between Jefferson and Washington at Kingston Stadium, kicking off at 2 p.m. Linn-Mar will host Prairie in a 5 p.m. contest and Mount Vernon will return to Thomas Park Field to take on Marion at 7 p.m.
The showdown in Iowa City between Solon and five-time defending champion Regina will start at 7 p.m.
