Erin White hired as Solon softball coach

Oct. 24, 2017 10:45 am
SOLON - The position of head softball coach at Solon High School is staying in the family.
Athletics director Zach Wigle tweeted Tuesday morning that Erin White has been hired to succeed husband Jim White, pending board approval.
Erin White previously coached the Spartans from 2007 through 2010, winning a state title in her first season.
Jim White resigned on Sept. 28 after five seasons at Solon, amassing a 186-33 record and a state title in 2015. He won 995 games in a 23-year career that included seven state championships. He stepped down to spend more time watching the couple's two sons play baseball.
'In an ideal world, Erin becomes the (varsity) coach and I become the junior-high (softball) coach,” Jim said when he resigned.
