Emily Thomson hired as Jefferson girls’ track coach

CEDAR RAPIDS - Emily Thomson has been elevated to the position of head coach of the Cedar Rapids Jefferson girls' track and field program.
A Mount Pleasant native, Thomson has served as an assistant coach at Jefferson for more of the last 20 years under Bill Calloway, who retired after last season. Thomson works full-time for a national non-profit called New Teacher Center as a consultant and has a part-time teaching position at Iowa BIG on Boyson Road.
