East Buchanan wins 1A boys’ state golf crown
Kaled Hagge of Winfield-Mount Union won the Class 1A boys' golf title, beating the field by six strokes. Hagge carded a 137 over two days at American Legion Memorial Golf Course in Marshalltown.
East Buchanan ran away with the team title, carding a 614 to beat Algona Garrigan by 18 strokes and repeat as champion.
Chris Cooksley led the Bucs with a 143, tying for second place. Jacob Hesner (150) was eighth.
Carter Stochl of New Hampton won the 2A crown, with Clear Lake taking the team title at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
In 3A, Tommy Doyle of Gilbert won the individual crown and DeWitt Central won the team title.
