CRAG'S DEUSO WINS 2 STATE TITLES
Maya Deuso of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won two events at the Iowa State Optional tournament earlier this month.
One of six winners from CRAG, Deuso won the vault and beam in Level 8, placing second in the bars, floor exercise and all-around.
Other CRAG winners were Riley Smith (vault) in Level 7, Lily Culver (beam) and Mary Kate Patterson (bars) in Level 8, and Jenna Danninger (bars) and Lexy Wadsworth (beam) in Level 9.
Placewinners were Kyleigh Garcia in Level 7 and Kareena McSweeney and Carly Mark in Level 8.
At the Leap into Spring meet, CRAG had six winners, including Kaitlyn Stone, who captured the beam and all around in Xcel Silver. Other winners were Emersyn Secora (vault) and Hannah Behrends (floor) in silver, and Elly Froehlich (bars), Macie Forck (bars) and Madison Schuster (beam) in Xcel Gold.
Placewinners were Ezri Acheson, Maggie Schlamp and Lindsay Ginger in silver, and Meghan Ulmer in gold.
12 FROM MOSER WIN USTA GOLD
MELCHER - Twelve members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won titles recently at the USTA Power Tumbling meet here.
The meet featured around 200 gymnasts from nine clubs.
Josephine Briggs, Noa Marting, Emma Marting, Hanna Marting, Chloe Bennett, Hannabelle Erickson, Paige Kremer, Emmy Troester, Megan Pierschbacher, Kennedi Bevans, Jason Recker and Tucker Erickson all won titles.
Becca Farmer placed second, along with Ella Marting, Kennedy Collins, Shania Rasmussen and Alexa Ries. Third-place finishers were Claire Jaeger, Zoe Walz, Alaina Mead and Ingrid Vaughn.
