Cedar Rapids Washington tabs John Gianforte to lead girls’ tennis team
CEDAR RAPIDS - Pending school board approval, Cedar Rapids Washington has selected John Gianforte to coach its girls' tennis program, Washington Athletics Director Paul James said in an e-mail to The Gazette.
Gianforte is the current freshman football head coach for the Warriors, and was previously the head coach of the Cedar Rapids Prairie varsity boys' basketball team. He also serves as the Director of Skill Development for the Iowa Barnstormers Amateur Athletic Union basketball club.
Gianforte replaces Spencer Eells, who guided the girls' tennis team on a one-year interim basis in 2015.
The Warriors won the girls' tennis team state championship in 2014.
