CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids Washington senior offensive lineman Nolan Potter has given his verbal commitment to play college football at Northern Illinois.
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Potter is a two-year starter for the Warriors. He said at the beginning of the season he was being recruited heavily by several Division II schools, with NIU the D-I school recruiting him the hardest.
The Huskies won out.
'NIU has a great coaching staff and known to have a great football team,' Potter said. 'I know this is the place for me.'
Fellow Washington lineman Andrew Todd also has committed to a Mid-American Conference school in Miami (Ohio). The Warriors are 3-3 and play Friday night at home against Mason City.
