Cedar Rapids Reds 12U baseball team finishes second
The Cedar Rapids Reds 12U baseball team took second place in the Iowa USSSA State AA Baseball Championships last weekend, July 2-4, at Raccoon Park in West Des Moines.
The Reds beat the Burlington Vipers 10-3 and Central Iowa Jaguars 2-1 in pool play and in bracket play beat the Wilton Beavers 10-2 and Waterloo Heat 3-2. In the semi-finals they beat the Des Moines Gators 2-0 and lost the championship game 7-5 to the Fort Dodge Legends.
Members of the team are Brenden Baker, Cody Keiser, Christopher Krystofiak, Trey Leonard, Bryce Paul, Colin Scott, Conner Shulista, Mac Spading, Tyler Unkel and Grant Wiederin.
