CENTER POINT — West Delaware ended Center Point-Urbana's early unbeaten run, 33-8, in Class 3A, District 4 action Friday night.
The Hawks were led by bruising junior running back Caleb Kehrli, who rushed for 189 yards and three TDs.
'Our line did great out there tonight,' Kehrli said. 'Our success in the passing game also helped open things up for us.'
West Delaware (3-1) quarterback Nick Casey also threw for 230 yards.
'I think when you have the threat in the air like we do, it really opens things up inside for us,' West Delaware Coach Doug Winkowitsch said.
CPU (3-1) struck first as Caleb Andrews found Jon Karteus for a 71-yard TD early in the first quarter.
'Outside of that one big play, I thought our defense did a nice job of containing them,' Winkowitsch said. 'They got to the edge a little bit, and we're working to get better defensively.'
After CPU's score, Kehrli found an open lane to the end zone from 13 yards out for his first of three TD runs in the first half.
West Delaware also had two crucial interceptions in the first half.
Jordan Bries added two fourth quarter touchdowns for WD.
