Andrew Seifert, Hayden Hakes earn top boys’ state swimming seeds
Washington junior and West senior were top qualifiers out of Saturday’s district meets

IOWA CITY — Cedar Rapids Washington's Andrew Seifert and Iowa City West's Hayden Hakes will be top seeds for this weekend's boys’ state swimming meet at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Iowa.
Seifert, a junior, has the top qualifying times in the 200-yard individual medley (1:49.85) and the 100 breaststroke (55.36). Hakes, a senior, has the top entry time in the 500 freestyle (4:34.95). He also is seeded second in the 200 freestyle.
West also has the top seeds in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
The state meet begins on Friday with preliminaries at 5 p.m. Finals in all 11 events begin at noon on Saturday
