22 Moser gymnasts win state titles

MARSHALLTOWN - Moser School of Dance and Gymnastics came home with 22 state championships and 139 athletes qualified for nationals at the Iowa State Championships last month.
The meet attracted 22 Iowa clubs and around 550 athletes.
Mosers state champs were Jacob Gasper, Cooper Ingles, Josephine Briggs, Makayla Gasper, Keely Recker, Madison Habel, Myra Clasen, Gertrude Wall, Michelle Stelken, Chloe Bennett, Caleb Weber, Paige Kremer, Katelin Ante, Emmy Troester, Maya Burkhart, Avery Sweeney, Karsyn Nichol, Lilee Boriskey, Jason Recker, Aidynn Burkhart, Kylie Belinsky and Lukas Friedlein.
STONEBRIDGE TEAMS SHINE AT TOURNEY
ROCKFORD, Ill. - Brandon McCalley, Victor Brown, Meng-Yu Wang and Arnold Kompanivets of the Stonebridge Church table tennis team placed second at the 'America's Team Table Tennis Tournament” recently.
The foursome won their preliminary round, placing their team in Group Four. They were seeded fourth, but ended up second with a 5-2 record.
Bill and Rion Schwarz teamed with John Oros and Dale Bacon to place fourth in the nine-team Group Five.
C.R. VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO NATIONALS
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Adrenaline Volleyball Academy 17 Rox team from Cedar Rapids has qualified for the American Division at the United States Association of Volleyball (USAV) Junior National Championships, June 27-July 2 in New Orleans.
The first-year team has won several tournaments this year, including the Six Pack Invitational in Cedar Falls and the inaugural Iowa Power League.
The 17 Rox team competed in the Open Division (top division) at all national qualifiers (Colorado Crossroads, Show Me Kansas City and Northern Lights Minneapolis), winning the Midwest JVA Challenge in Des Moines recently.
5 AREA SOCCER TEAMS HEADED TO REGIONAL
By winning the US Youth Soccer Iowa State Championships, five local soccer teams have qualified to compete in the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region II (Midwest) Championships in Fox Cities, Wis., later this month.
Three boys' teams - Cedar River SA U17, FC United Fusion U18 of Marion and CRSA/ISC U19 of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City - will compete, along with the Cedar River SA U15 and FC United Fusion (Marion) U16 girls' teams.
There will 214 teams in the Region II Championships, from U13 through U19 age groups. Round robin games will take place June 20 with finals set for June 24.
