Area girls' track individuals to watch this spring:
JASMINE BLUE, sr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson — Class 4A state champion in the 400- and 800-meter relays. Second in the sprint medley relay.
AMBER DECKER, sr., Linn-Mar — Class 4A state champion in the 3,200-meter relay and distance medley relay. Second in the 1,600 relay, fifth in the 800.
MAGGIE DAVIS, jr., Mount Vernon — Class 2A state champion in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays. Fourth in the distance medley, seventh in the sprint medley.
PAIGE HOLUB, soph., Monticello — Class 2A state champion in the distance medley relay. Third in the 1,500 meters and 3,200 relay.
STEPHANIE JENKS, sr., Linn-Mar — Class 4A state champion in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000. Fifth in the 400 hurdles.
ABBY KNOOP, jr., West Branch — Class 2A state champion in the shuttle hurdle relay. Fourth in the 100 hurdles, fifth in the 800 relay and sixth in the 1,600 relay.
JOLISSA KRIEGEL, sr., BGM — Class 1A state runner-up in the 200, 400 and sprint medley relay. Fourth in the 100.
KATIE MASCHMANN, sr., Montezuma — Class 1A state champion in the 100 and 200.
SYDNEY MERTENS, soph., North Linn — Class 1A state champion in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays and distance medley relay.
ABILENE RANSCHAU, sr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson — Class 4A state champion in the 100 hurdles, 400- and 800-meter relays. Second in the sprint medley relay.
TAYLOR SCHURING, sr., Decorah — Class 3A state champion in the distance medley relay. Second in the 1,600 relay and sprint medley relay, sixth in the 3,200 relay.
MACIE WEBER, sr., Cascade — Class 2A state runner-up in the 800 meters and 3,200 relay. Third in the distance medley, seventh in the 1,600 relay.
VALERIE WELCH, jr., Iowa City West — Class 4A state runner-up in the 100 hurdles. Second in the distance medley relay, fifth in the shuttle hurdle relay and sixth in the 400 hurdles.
PAYTON WENSEL, soph., Linn-Mar — Class 4A state champion in the 400 meters, 3,200 relay and distance medley relay. Second in the 1,600 relay.
