IOWA CITY -- Keenan Davis said he should be OK for Saturday.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver suffered a sprained right ankle in Iowa's victory over Indiana last weekend. Tuesday, Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Davis was in a group of eight to 10 players who will be monitored for availability for the Hawkeyes' game Saturday at Minnesota.
Davis said he's been cleared medically and is in a mode of "whatever I can do" with an ankle injury that scared him when it happened in the fourth quarter.
"It popped on me and it hurt when it happened," said Davis, Iowa's No. 2 receiver with 30 catches for 463 yards and four TDs. "But it's getting better everyday. It's whatever I can do and we'll see this week."
Davis said he suffered a minor sprain and was told to stay off it last weekend.
"It feels good," Davis said. "Hopefully practices go well, I'm going to take it easy on some cuts, but I should be OK by this weekend. It's getting better every day."
Davis said the injury came during what he thought was the final series he was going to play.
