Jan. 8, 2013 2:12 pm
This is "bounce back" week for Iowa basketball.
On the sense of urgency, Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery said that's there every Big Ten game. If it's not, a Michigan happens. It happened to the Hawkeyes last week. McCaffery liked the effort -- saying Tuesday the Hawkeyes played worse in their loss at home to Indiana -- but ultimately said there was way more to dislike, mostly focusing on the defensive effort and the art of "getting back."
McCaffery and several Iowa basketball players spoke about the Hawkeyes' upcoming game with Michigan State (6 p.m. Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena).
Iowa guard Anthony Clemmons is a Lansing, Mich., native and has ties upon ties to the Michigan State program. He faces his former hometown team for the first time Thursday night.
Sure, Clemmons was a fan of and would've loved to receive a scholarship offer from Michigan State. Numbers squeezed him out and he liked the opportunity Iowa had to offer.
Iowa F Aaron White faces questions about the Michigan avalanche.
White gets a little more indepth on what coach Fran McCaffery's message was post-Michigan. It wasn't personal, but McCaffery made his point.
Iowa F Melsahn Basabe talks about the message his coach Fran McCaffery sent the team after a disastrous road trip to Michigan.
