And here's this.
You'll never believe this, but FB Mark Weisman wants to be a strength coach when he graduates. He's got the strength part down. He also talks about how his life has changed. Well, not at all. He had dinner with the family and hung up with the same buddies he always does on Saturday night.
Watch Iowa QB James Vandenberg's famous last words here. He says something Pat Angerer isn't going to like.
C James Ferentz said the Iowa huddle drew a lot of energy out of Weisman on Saturday. It took him back to seventh grade and the joy of the game.
C.J. Fiedorowicz talks about the back-shoulder catch and the release on the play-action bootleg. He also talks about how Kirk Ferentz has talked to him about staying on his feet and not trying to hurdle defenders. He hurt his back doing that against Iowa State, but stopped himself from doing it last week.
LB Anthony Hitchens talks about delivering the knockout punch. He also talks about Lorain, Ohio. It's a small town about 20 minutes from Cleveland. Everyone knows everyone. The fun thing is going to Cleveland, but Hitchens stayed home and played backyard football. He started his career as a safety, was moved to RB for a little while and then switched to LB.
I keep the back-shoulder theme party going here with WR Kevonte Martin-Manley. He said they tried a few Saturday. He is aware that he has not caught one yet. He wants to catch one of those, yes, very much.
We catch the back end of WR Keenan Davis talking about The Bubble. We quickly move on to the back-shoulder. Davis likes the technique, but it's new and it will take some time to perfect.
LB Christian Kirksey talks about bringing up his fellow linebacker and classmate Anthony Hitchens.
Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach Greg Davis is driven back to the locker room following their college football game against Northern Iowa Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. (Brian Ray/The Gazette-KCRG)
