Vegas' linemakers not sour on Oklahoma
Mike Hlas Dec. 6, 2011 4:50 pm
Oklahoma's football team took a precipitous drop in the rankings after its 44-10 loss to Oklahoma State last Saturday, but the linesmakers of Las Vegas still believe in the Sooners.
The Don Best Linesmakers' Poll has no sentiment. It goes by one formula. Namely, who the linesmakers think have the best teams.
Oklahoma, which is 14th in the BCS standings and 19th in Associated Press' Top 25, is No. 8 in the Linesmakers' Poll.
Iowa, which plays the Sooners in the Dec. 30 Insight Bowl, is not in the Linesmakers' Top 40.
Oklahoma is a 14- to 15-point favorite at various Vegas sports books. The Sooners opened at -16 at Wynn Las Vegas, but that was down to 14.5 as of 6 p.m., Central time, Tuesday.
