University of Iowa basketball player Anthony Tucker was arrested for public intoxication early Sunday morning.
Officers arrested Tucker, 20, at 2:05 a.m. at The Lodge apartment complex near Highway 6, according to police reports.
The police activity log shows officers were called there after receiving a 911 call that “sounded like a problem with a cab and a fare,” but the call was disconnected and officers were unable to call back the number.
In the same report, it shows someone tried to assault the cabdriver, but doesn't say who.
Tucker was charged with public intoxication in December 2008 after he was rushed to the University Hospitals when police found him unconscious in an alley behind an Iowa City bar.
Coach Todd Lickliter suspended Tucker after the incident. Tucker also missed games last season due to academic ineligibility as well as illness.
Tucker has started all of Iowa's 11 games this season and is second on the team with 11.9 points per game.
