Ryan Bowen lands NBA coaching gig

Former Iowa men's basketball player Ryan Bowen is a new assistant coach and assistant director of player development with the NBA's Sacramento Kings.
Bowen will assist Dee Brown in all areas of on-court player development.
Bowen, a Fort Madison native, spent 10 years in the NBA with four organizations and played in 507 games. He also played in Turkey and Israel.
After eight months with the Iowa basketball program as a video coordinator and administrative assistant, Bowen spent the last two seasons assisting George Karl with the Denver Nuggets. Karl was fired after the season.
Bowen is Iowa's all-time leader in steals with 208 and scored 1,090 points, ranking 34th in Hawkeye history. He led Iowa in rebounds, steal and field-goal percentage in each of his final two seasons, He averaged 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest during his senior year in 1997-98.
