Report: Hawkeyes land defensive tackle

Four-star defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson announced this morning that he will play football for the University of Iowa, according to HawkeyeReport.com.
The 6-foot-2, 277-pound Illinois nativeposted the news on Facebook at 11:30 a.m. today, the Web site reported.
Here is what he posted: "After long talks with friends and family it has come down to Michigan State and the University of Iowa. Long story short, I JUST COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA!! HAWKEYES BABY!!!"
Johnson also held scholarship offers from Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Boston College, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Toledo. HawkeyeReport reported.
The defensive tackle is the sixth commitment for the Iowa coaching staff in the Class of 2012.
