Hawkeyes rebounded from 5-game January losing streak to push its way to a certain NCAA tournament invitation, and their 3-game stay at the Big Ten tournament only added to their resume.
The Hawkeyes ended the first day in second place, but they have a favorable path to another national title.
The Hawkeyes also are without head coach Renee Gillispie, who stepped away for 2025 season due to a “personal health matter.“
Kyle Parco has wrestled at Fresno State, Arizona State and now Unviersity of Iowa. Parco, a four-time All-American, has experienced success at each stop. He enters his final postseason with Iowa, competing in his first Big Ten Wrestling Championships.

Prospects will have another opportunity to woo NFL scouts later this month at Iowa’s pro day.
Iowa is the overwhelming favorite again at this year’s national championships after claiming last year’s team title and six of the 10 individual titles.
Hall of Fame coach Tom Izzo said it’s “easy to throw stones” as he defended Iowa’s Fran McCaffery.
With a big lift from freshman center Ava Heiden Thursday, Iowa is 2-for-2 in the Big Ten tourney and has won its last four games. It advances to face 13th-ranked Ohio State Friday night.
Hawkeyes face a defensive force in Buckeyes, with the winner proceeding to Saturday’s semifinals.
