NFL Hawkeyes: Keenan Davis TD, Bulaga torn ACL?

Aug. 4, 2013 11:02 pm
Rookie wide receiver Keenan Davis of Iowa certainly was involved in his first NFL preseason game.
Davis had a 5-yard touchdown catch, three receptions for 48 yards, and tipped a pass that was caught by teammate Kyle Miller for a TD in the Miami Dolphins' 24-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night. To see a video of the catch, click here.
Not bad for a guy who had been cut by the Cleveland Browns a little over a week ago.
"You start rethinking what you've got to do, re-thinking your approach to how it was at Cleveland, to a different team. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster. I just kept working, waiting for the call," Davis told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel recently.
Davis' Iowa teammate, Marvin McNutt, did not have a catch for the Dolphins. McNutt spent last year with the Philadelphia Eagles, almost all of it on the practice squad. For a video interview with McNutt on the Dolphins' website, click here.
The news isn't as good for former Iowa offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, a Green Bay Packers starter.
Bulaga injured a knee Saturday night in the Packers' intrasquad scrimmage at Lambeau Field. A source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Fiorio that Bulaga tore an ACL.
