New recruit to play in Prime Time League

New Iowa recruit Melsahn Basabe will compete in the Prime Time League this summer at the North Liberty Recreation Center.

Basabe's mother, Aloha Wilks-Besabe, said Melsahn will graduate May 24 from St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass. He then will arrive in Iowa City in time for league play, which begins June 16.

The Prime Time League enters its 24th season and games are held on Mondays and Wednesdays through the championship on July 28. Current  Iowa and Northern Iowa players, plus other area college and professional basketball players compete in the league. College players must come from a 100-mile radius and there will be six teams.
