IOWA CITY — Iowa soccer will be a No. 3 seed in this year’s NCAA soccer tournament, marking the highest seeding in program history.
The latest program first by Dave DiIanni’s group follows a season in which the Hawkeyes went 13-2-4 overall and 8-2-1 in Big Ten play. This is the second consecutive season where Iowa is hosting an NCAA tournament match.
Iowa will play Missouri State in the first round on Friday at 6 p.m. in Iowa City. The Bears went 13-4-3 this season en route to claiming a Missouri Valley Conference tournament title.
With a win, the Hawkeyes would play the winner of sixth-seeded Georgetown and Fairfield. Second-seeded UCLA would host that round and the third round next weekend.
