Mar. 23, 2010 10:29 am
We're now in Day 9 of Iowa's men's basketball coaching search. The prospect list grows by the day.
Here's a look at recent stories about a few of the potential candidates:
Memphis' Josh Pastner has overcome many struggles in his first year with the Tigers. He also played as a walk-on for former Iowa Coach Lute Olson in Arizona before serving Olson as an assistant. He was the lead recruiter under former Memphis Coach John Calipari before taking over this year.
Reporters in El Paso expect UTEP Coach Tony Barbee to entertain offers.
Scott Drew has Baylor rolling to the Sweet 16, although many hate his recruiting style.
Northern Iowa Coach Ben Jacobson has roots in North Dakota.
Dayton Coach Brian Gregory is attracting attention to both the Iowa and DePaul jobs.
Georgia Tech Coach Paul Hewitt is attractive to several schools, mostly notably St. John's.
Here's Bruce Pearl's memo sent to the NCAA about Illinois' alleged improprieties while recruiting Deon Thomas.
Dolph Pulliam reaffirms Keno Davis' desire to stay at Providence.
Cornell's Steve Donahue could field several offers once the Big Red's season ends.
Siena's Fran McCaffrey could be in line at Seton Hall.
Is St. Mary's Coach Randy Bennett jockeying for the Oregon job?
UNLV Coach Lon Kruger sounds content, but would he want to move back to the Midwest?
Craig Robinson's
two-year extension at Oregon State should keep him in Corvalis for a while.
