Iowa earns 4 top seeds for NCAA Wrestling Championships

Iowa will attempt to win its first national team title since 2010.
The Hawkeyes will have four top seeds to lead the way.
The brackets for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships were released Wednesday. Iowa quartet Spencer Lee, Jaydin Eierman, Alex Marinelli and Michael Kemerer earned No. 1 seeds at their respective weights. Iowa State 157-pounder David Carr was third and Northern Iowa's Parker Keckeisen was fourth at 184.
The Hawkeyes had eight wrestlers seeded fifth or better and all 10 in the top 12. Kaleb Young (157), Jacob Warner at 197 and heavyweight Tony Cassioppi were all fifth, while Nelson Brands (184) and 149-pounder Max Murin were both 12th.
The Cyclones qualified eight wrestlers. In addition to Carr, Iowa State had three more seeded in the top half of their weight class. Heavyweight Gannon Gremmel was sixth and Ian Parker was seventh at 141. Zach Redding (133) was 13th.
Fifth-seeded Brody Teske joined Keckeisen as Big 12 Conference champions and a high seed. Heavyweight Carter Isley is the 15th seed for the Panthers.
