Today was our final day in Europe and we played our final game of the trip. I think we ended the trip very well.
This morning, a number of us went to the Louvre and also to another museum to see Monet's Water Lilies. We also saw the Paris Opera House (the place that the Phantom of the Opera was based off of) and Saint Chapelle's Cathedral, built in the 1200's. It had 15 stained glass windows the depicted different biblical stories. It was really something to see.
The five-day layoff from basketball didn't affect our team. I think it felt good for everyone to run up and down the court again. As a team, we had great ball movement. Kathryn had a great thread-the-needle pass to Morgan and Sam also had a no-look assist to Virginia that got the bench excited! We won, 106-93 and had six players score double-figures. It was a great way to finish the three-game series we played in Europe.
Tonight, we are going to end the trip by eating crepes and Nutella. It's a pretty good dish!
We will be on the go constantly tomorrow with traveling back into the States, so this will be my last chance to blog. This trip was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I cannot express my gratitude enough to those that made this trip possible for our team. It is truly great to be a Hawkeye. Thanks again for all your support and following the blog throughout the trip!
GO HAWKS! (Europe was great…but we can't wait to get back to Hawkeye Country).
